With ten years of experience as a Marriage and Family Therapist, Gayle has dedicated her career to supporting individuals and families through life's challenges. Her diverse background includes working in Psychiatric Hospitals, Group Practices, and various Treatment Centers, providing her with a well-rounded perspective on mental health and recovery.

Currently, Gayle is the founder of Roots by the Sea, her private practice where she is committed to fostering healing and growth for individuals, couples and families. She also serves as an Affiliate Professor at Antioch University’s Graduate School in Los Angeles, where she specializes in Addiction Recovery. Gayle teaches coursework that spans Treatment and Assessment of Addictions, Co-Occurring Disorders, Psychological Perspectives, and the Sociocultural Perspectives of Addictive Disorders. Keeping her feet planted in Recovery she continues to facilitate groups at local Intensive Outpatient Centers in the Los Angeles Area. 

Gayle draws on her experiences as a Therapist, Program Director, and Group Facilitator to educate and empower the next generation of Therapists at Antioch University. She is passionate about helping individuals in recovery understand, honor, and support their journey through a multidimensional lens, recognizing the complex interplay of biological, psychological, and cultural factors.

Collaboration is central to Gayle’s approach,  she often partners with other healthcare providers to ensure her clients receive comprehensive support for the best possible outcomes. She approaches therapy with a foundation rooted in empowerment and Attachment Theory, seamlessly integrating techniques from Somatic Experiencing, Parts Work, Psychoanalysis, and Solution-Focused Therapy. This multifaceted approach allows her to customize her work with each individual, helping clients rewrite old narratives, process trauma, and take charge of their healing journey.
